Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to leveraging technology and digital infrastructure to transform Lagos into a smarter and more connected city.
The governor made this known during a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer for Africa Region of China Mobile International Limited, Mr. Terry Leung, at Lagos House, Marina.
During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities for collaboration in the areas of technology, innovation, and digital infrastructure development. The discussions focused on how strategic partnerships with global technology companies can support Lagos State’s vision of expanding digital connectivity, improving service delivery, and creating an enabling environment for innovation-driven growth.
Sanwo-Olu noted that Lagos remains one of Africa’s leading economic and technological hubs, attracting the attention of global investors and multinational corporations seeking opportunities within the continent’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
According to the governor, the state government is committed to building the infrastructure required to support technological advancement and strengthen the digital economy. The governor further stated that Lagos continues to attract global interest because of the creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of its people. The visit by China Mobile International Limited highlights the growing interest of international technology firms in Lagos and underscores the state’s strategic importance as a gateway for digital investment in Africa.
