The Youth Bureau has expressed strong support for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s appeal for national unity in response to recent security concerns across the country.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Adekunle Adeosun, the organization described the governor’s message as a reminder that security is not solely the responsibility of government but a collective responsibility involving citizens, communities, institutions, and stakeholders.
The group noted that young Nigerians have a particularly important role to play in safeguarding national peace and stability.
According to the Youth Bureau, criminal elements thrive in environments where misinformation, fear, division, and hopelessness prevail. It therefore called on young people to reject violence, promote peace, and support efforts aimed at strengthening national unity.
“Young Nigerians must become ambassadors of peace and national cohesion. We cannot allow criminals and enemies of progress to define our future. Our generation must stand firmly on the side of unity, development, and stability,” Adeosun stated.
The organization also expressed confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the administration continues to prioritize security as a key component of national development.
The Youth Bureau praised members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies for their sacrifices and dedication to protecting lives and property.
According to the group, sustainable peace requires not only military responses but also investments in education, employment, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities.
The Youth Bureau further commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for consistently promoting national unity and encouraging constructive engagement among citizens.
The group concluded by urging young people across Nigeria to remain hopeful, law-abiding, and supportive of efforts to build a secure and prosperous nation.
