The Youth Bureau has congratulated former Lagos State Governor and former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a public servant whose life and career continue to inspire a new generation of Nigerians committed to excellence, integrity, and nation-building.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Adekunle Adeosun, the organization said Fashola represents a model of leadership that demonstrates the value of preparation, competence, and service.
According to the Youth Bureau, many young Nigerians look up to leaders who rise through dedication, professionalism, and a commitment to solving problems rather than seeking personal recognition.
The organization noted that throughout his career, Fashola consistently showed that effective leadership requires knowledge, discipline, courage, and the willingness to make decisions that advance the public good.
“To many young Nigerians, Babatunde Raji Fashola represents what is possible when excellence meets public service. His career reminds us that leadership is earned through hard work, integrity, and consistent performance,” the statement read.
The Youth Bureau praised his achievements in Lagos, where his administration implemented reforms in transportation, environmental sanitation, education, justice, and infrastructure that helped strengthen the state’s development trajectory.
The organization also acknowledged his contributions at the national level, where he played a key role in advancing major road and housing projects that improved connectivity and supported economic growth.
According to the group, one of Fashola’s greatest legacies is his emphasis on institution-building and policy continuity.
“Young people need leaders who show that governance is about creating lasting value rather than seeking short-term applause. Babatunde Raji Fashola has consistently demonstrated that principle.”
The Youth Bureau encouraged young Nigerians to emulate his discipline, pursuit of excellence, and respect for public institutions.
The organization stated that the future of Nigeria depends on a generation that values competence, ethical leadership, innovation, and accountability.
“As we celebrate his birthday, we also celebrate the ideals he represents—professionalism, discipline, vision, and responsible leadership. These are values that every young Nigerian should aspire to uphold.”
The Youth Bureau prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Fashola, wishing him good health, wisdom, and many more years of fruitful service to Nigeria.
“On behalf of young people across our network, we celebrate an exceptional leader whose life continues to inspire excellence. Happy Birthday to Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN. May your years ahead be filled with peace, strength, and continued opportunities to contribute to the growth of our nation.”
