The Campaign for Dignity Governance (CDG) has declared the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as one of the most qualified, experienced, and competent leaders capable of sustaining the developmental trajectory of Lagos State beyond 2027.
In a statement signed by its Convener, Razaq Olokoba, the organization described Dr. Hamzat as a bridge-builder, an intellectual giant, an accomplished public servant, and a transformational leader whose years of dedicated service have significantly contributed to the remarkable progress Lagos continues to record across critical sectors of development.
According to the Campaign for Dignity Governance, leadership succession should never be treated as a mere political exercise but rather as an opportunity to preserve excellence, sustain progress, and strengthen institutional development.
“Lagos is not an ordinary state. It is Nigeria’s economic nerve centre and one of Africa’s largest economies. The leadership of such an important state must be entrusted to individuals who possess competence, experience, integrity, and an in-depth understanding of governance. Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat possesses these qualities in abundance,” the statement read.
The organization noted that throughout his years of service, Dr. Hamzat has consistently demonstrated exceptional loyalty to the developmental agenda of successive administrations while remaining committed to the principles of responsible governance and people-centred leadership.
According to the group, one of the greatest strengths of Dr. Hamzat remains his understanding of government institutions, public policy formulation, technological innovation, and strategic planning.
The Campaign for Dignity Governance further described him as one of Nigeria’s finest technocrats whose contributions to governance have transcended politics and positively impacted millions of Lagos residents.
“Leadership is not simply about occupying public office. Leadership is about competence, character, and capacity. Dr. Hamzat has spent decades preparing himself for service and has repeatedly demonstrated excellence whenever called upon to serve.”
The organization also highlighted his unwavering loyalty and commitment to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration and the Greater Lagos developmental agenda.
