Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reflected on the defining moments of his administration, reaffirming his commitment to building a Lagos that works for all residents regardless of their social or economic background.
Speaking on Monday, the governor said his years in office have been driven by a simple covenant with the people of Lagos—to provide purposeful leadership, deliver sustainable development and remain resolute even in the face of unprecedented challenges.
Sanwo-Olu noted that governance has required resilience, determination and a strong sense of responsibility, particularly during periods of crisis. He said his administration has continued to prioritise the welfare of residents while implementing policies and projects aimed at improving transportation, healthcare, education, infrastructure, security and economic growth.
The governor recalled that Lagos had faced several difficult moments, including the COVID-19 pandemic and other emergencies that tested the resilience of both the government and residents. Despite these challenges, he said the state remained focused on delivering critical infrastructure and expanding opportunities for citizens.
According to him, the progress recorded across different sectors has been made possible through the collective support, patience and resilience of Lagosians, whose commitment to the state’s growth continues to inspire his administration.
Sanwo-Olu stressed that his vision has always been to build an inclusive and globally competitive city where every resident has access to opportunities for growth and prosperity. He added that the government would continue to invest in projects that improve the quality of life and strengthen the state’s position as Nigeria’s economic hub.
The governor reiterated that leadership is about service and continuity, expressing confidence that the foundations being laid today will benefit future generations.
He thanked Lagos residents for their trust and support over the years, pledging that his administration would remain focused on fulfilling its promises and ensuring that the state continues on the path of sustainable development and shared prosperity.
