Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, on her historic election as the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), describing the achievement as a landmark moment for the legal profession and the nation.
In a congratulatory message, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Badejo-Okusanya for becoming only the second woman in the history of the NBA to be elected president, noting that the feat reflects her years of dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment to the legal profession.
The governor said her emergence as the head of the country’s foremost association of legal practitioners is a testament to decades of hard work, legal excellence and steadfast commitment to the rule of law.
Sanwo-Olu described the election as a proud moment not only for members of the legal profession but also for women across Lagos State and Nigeria, saying her success would inspire more young women to aspire to leadership positions in their respective careers.
According to him, Badejo-Okusanya has consistently distinguished herself through legal precision, integrity and exceptional service, earning the respect of her colleagues and the confidence of members of the Nigerian Bar Association.
The governor expressed confidence that her leadership would usher in a new era of progress for the NBA while strengthening the administration of justice and promoting the rule of law across the country.
“Her victory is well deserved and reflects the confidence reposed in her by members of the Bar. I am confident that her tenure will provide visionary leadership and contribute significantly to the advancement of justice in Nigeria,” Sanwo-Olu said.
