Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in the education and future of young people, stressing that the development of the youth will remain a priority until the end of his tenure.
Sanwo-Olu stated this during his final convocation visit to Lagos State University (LASU), where he joined the university community in celebrating graduating students and recognising their academic achievements.
The Governor described the graduating students as extraordinary scholars whose dedication, resilience and hard work deserved to be celebrated and recognised. He noted that their success represented not only a personal achievement but also a reflection of the strength and potential of Lagos State’s education sector.
According to him, the convocation provided an opportunity to honour excellence and celebrate the bright future that lies ahead for the graduating students as they prepare to begin the next phase of their lives.
Sanwo-Olu emphasised that education remains a critical tool for empowering young people, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence required to contribute meaningfully to society and drive sustainable development.
He said his administration’s commitment to youth development would remain firm through his final day in office, assuring that efforts to create opportunities for young Lagosians would continue to receive attention.
The Governor congratulated the graduates for successfully completing their academic programmes, urging them to remain committed to excellence, uphold integrity and use their knowledge to make positive contributions to Lagos State, Nigeria and the global community.
He also commended the management, lecturers and staff of LASU for their contributions to academic excellence and for nurturing students who, he said, represent the future of the State.
The convocation ceremony therefore marked a significant moment for Sanwo-Olu, as he celebrated LASU’s graduating scholars while reaffirming his enduring commitment to education, youth empowerment and human capital development in Lagos.
