
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, joined party leaders, stakeholders, and delegates at the Lagos State Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where Cornelius Ojelabi was returned as the party’s State Chairman.
The congress, which brought together key figures and members of the ruling party across Lagos State, served as an opportunity to review the party’s progress and reaffirm its commitment to strengthening its internal structures. Delegates from different local government areas participated in the exercise, which concluded with the re-election of Ojelabi and members of the state executive committee.
Speaking after the congress, Governor Sanwo-Olu described Lagos as the bedrock of the APC, noting that the state has continued to play a vital role in shaping the direction and success of progressive politics in Nigeria. He said the outcome of the congress demonstrates the unity and resilience of the party in the state.
The governor emphasised that the party remains committed to maintaining its position as the gold standard for progressive governance while ensuring that it continues to serve as an inclusive platform for members and supporters. According to him, the congress has further strengthened the party’s resolve to remain focused on delivering good governance and maintaining strong connections with the people.
Sanwo-Olu congratulated Ojelabi and the newly returned state executive members on their renewed mandate, urging them to continue working diligently to strengthen the party at all levels.
He noted that the real task ahead is to sustain unity within the party, deepen grassroots engagement, and ensure that the APC remains responsive to the needs and aspirations of Lagos residents.
