Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and making quality medical services more accessible to residents across the state.
Sanwo-Olu stated this while delivering the keynote address at the 2nd Eko Health Convention, where healthcare professionals, stakeholders and other key players in the sector gathered to exchange ideas and explore practical solutions to challenges facing healthcare delivery.
The Governor emphasised that healthcare is fundamentally about people and should focus on ensuring that residents have access to quality and affordable medical services.
According to him, strengthening the state’s healthcare system remains a major priority of his administration and an important pillar of the THEMES+ Agenda, which provides the framework for driving sustainable development across Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu noted that improving healthcare requires continuous investment, innovation and collaboration among government, healthcare professionals, private-sector players and other stakeholders.
He expressed appreciation to participants at the convention for contributing their expertise, ideas and practical solutions towards building a stronger and more responsive healthcare system in Lagos.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s determination to implement policies and initiatives that will improve healthcare infrastructure, expand access to quality services and ultimately enable residents to live healthier and more productive lives.
He added that the state would continue to engage stakeholders and explore innovative approaches to address emerging healthcare needs.
Sanwo-Olu stressed that the collective efforts of government and stakeholders are essential to achieving a healthcare system that places the wellbeing of every Lagosian at its centre.
