The Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG) has welcomed the appointment of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to the newly constituted campaign committee, describing the decision as a strong recognition of his experience, leadership capacity and proven record of public service.
In a statement signed by its Convener, Razaq Olokoba, the organisation said the appointment demonstrates confidence in Governor Sanwo-Olu’s ability to contribute meaningfully to a major political assignment requiring strategic thinking, organisation and broad stakeholder engagement.
According to the group, Sanwo-Olu’s years of public service have equipped him with valuable experience in administration, economic planning, infrastructure development and political coordination.
“The appointment of Governor Sanwo-Olu is a fitting recognition of a leader whose experience extends beyond Lagos State. His record demonstrates an understanding of how government works, how institutions can be strengthened and how different interests can be brought together towards a common objective,” Olokoba stated.
The CDG noted that Sanwo-Olu has governed one of Nigeria’s most complex and economically significant states, managing the demands of a rapidly growing population while overseeing major investments in transportation, healthcare, education, technology, infrastructure and economic development.
The organisation said such experience will be valuable to the committee, particularly because successful campaign organisation requires discipline, coordination, communication and an understanding of diverse communities.
CDG further described the appointment as evidence that competence and experience remain important considerations when assembling a team for a national political assignment.
The organisation congratulated Governor Sanwo-Olu and expressed confidence that he would bring his trademark professionalism, administrative experience and commitment to service to the committee.
“We commend this appointment and believe Governor Sanwo-Olu will bring considerable value to the assignment. His experience in Lagos gives him a unique understanding of both governance and the expectations of citizens.”
The Campaign for Dignity in Governance urged members of the committee to work collectively and maintain a strong focus on issues that matter to Nigerians.
The organisation concluded by congratulating Governor Sanwo-Olu and describing his appointment as a recognition of the leadership experience he has accumulated over the years.
