The Campaign for Dignity Governance (CDG) has commended the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the administration’s recent investments and interventions in the education sector, describing the efforts as a clear demonstration of visionary leadership and commitment to human capital development.
In a statement issued in Lagos, the Convener of the group, Razaq Olokoba, praised Governor Sanwo-Olu following the state government’s continued expansion of educational infrastructure, teacher development programmes, and strategic investments aimed at improving learning outcomes across public schools in Lagos State.
According to the group, one of the most commendable developments recorded in recent months was the state government’s renewed commitment to upgrading public school facilities and expanding access to quality education across different parts of Lagos.
The Campaign for Dignity Governance noted that education remains one of the most powerful tools for economic growth, youth empowerment, social mobility, and national development.
“Any government that invests in education is investing in the future. Governor Sanwo-Olu continues to demonstrate a clear understanding of this reality through policies and programmes designed to strengthen learning, improve infrastructure, and create better opportunities for young people,” Olokoba stated.
The group particularly praised the administration’s ongoing efforts to improve school infrastructure, modernise learning environments, and create better conditions for students and teachers across the state.
According to the statement, quality education cannot thrive without proper facilities, functional classrooms, modern learning tools, and an environment that encourages academic excellence.
The organization further noted that the government’s investments in education are already contributing to improved learning opportunities and helping prepare students for the demands of a rapidly changing global economy.
The Campaign for Dignity Governance also commended the Sanwo-Olu administration’s support for innovation, technology-driven learning, and youth-focused educational programmes aimed at equipping students with practical skills relevant to the modern workforce.
According to the group, Lagos has continued to distinguish itself as a state that recognizes the importance of knowledge, innovation, and human capital development as drivers of sustainable economic growth.
“Today’s economy is driven by technology, innovation, creativity, and knowledge. Preparing young people for that future requires deliberate investment in education, and that is exactly what this administration is doing,” the statement added.
The group further praised Governor Sanwo-Olu for maintaining consistency in educational development despite economic challenges facing governments across the country.
It noted that many administrations often focus only on physical infrastructure while neglecting human development, but Lagos has continued to balance investments in roads, transportation, housing, healthcare, and education.
According to Olokoba, one of the strongest legacies any government can leave behind is an educated and empowered generation capable of contributing meaningfully to society.
“Buildings and roads are important, but investing in people is even more important. Education remains the foundation upon which every successful society is built, and Lagos is making significant progress in that direction,” he said.
The Campaign for Dignity Governance also highlighted the positive impact that educational investments will have on reducing unemployment, improving productivity, encouraging innovation, and strengthening economic competitiveness.
The group stressed that young people who receive quality education are more likely to become entrepreneurs, professionals, innovators, and responsible citizens capable of driving development.
According to the statement, Governor Sanwo-Olu deserves recognition for pursuing policies that focus not only on present needs but also on preparing future generations for success.
The organization concluded by reaffirming its support for policies and initiatives that strengthen education, youth development, innovation, and human capital advancement.
“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu continues to demonstrate leadership that prioritises long-term development. His commitment to education reflects a belief that the future of Lagos depends on the quality of opportunities available to its young people today. These investments will continue to yield benefits for many years to come,” the statement concluded.
