The Convener of the Campaign for Dignity Governance (CDG), Razaq Olokoba, has expressed delight over the recent commendation of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, by the Nigerian Senate, describing the recognition as a fitting acknowledgement of the Governor’s commitment to responsible governance, infrastructure development, economic transformation, and people-centred leadership.
In a statement issued in Lagos, Olokoba said the Senate’s commendation reflects the growing national recognition of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s efforts in strengthening Lagos as Nigeria’s commercial capital through strategic investments in transportation, healthcare, education, technology, urban renewal, housing, environmental sustainability, and economic development.
According to him, exceptional leadership deserves to be acknowledged irrespective of political differences, especially when such leadership continues to produce measurable results that positively impact millions of citizens.
“The Senate’s commendation is not only a recognition of Governor Sanwo-Olu as an individual but also an acknowledgement of the remarkable developmental strides Lagos State has continued to witness under his administration. It demonstrates that genuine service and visible performance will always attract recognition,” Olokoba stated.
He noted that Governor Sanwo-Olu has consistently demonstrated calm, visionary, and inclusive leadership while navigating the complexities of governing one of Africa’s fastest-growing megacities.
Olokoba observed that despite economic pressures and rapid urban expansion, Lagos has continued to record significant progress in infrastructure delivery, transportation reform, innovation, youth empowerment, healthcare, and public sector transformation.
He further stated that one of the Governor’s greatest strengths is his ability to focus on long-term development while responding effectively to the immediate needs of residents.
According to the CDG Convener, projects such as the expansion of rail transportation, road infrastructure improvements, environmental reforms, investments in education, digital innovation, and economic initiatives have continued to reinforce Lagos’ position as Nigeria’s leading investment destination.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu has remained committed to the Greater Lagos vision through practical governance rather than empty promises. His administration has shown consistency, discipline, and a clear understanding of what sustainable development requires,” he added.
Olokoba also commended members of the Lagos State Executive Council and public servants whose collective efforts have contributed to the success of the administration.
He noted that effective governance is built on teamwork, institutional strength, and leaders who remain committed to serving the public interest.
The Campaign for Dignity Governance urged Governor Sanwo-Olu to remain focused on his developmental agenda, assuring him that responsible leadership will continue to earn the respect and confidence of citizens across the country.
Olokoba concluded by congratulating the Governor on the Senate’s recognition and expressed optimism that his administration would continue to deliver projects and reforms that improve the quality of life of Lagos residents.
“The recognition by the Senate is well deserved. We congratulate Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and encourage him to continue building a Lagos that remains a model of development, innovation, and good governance for Nigeria and Africa.”
