
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday received the newly appointed Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Mrs. Olugbemisola Odusote, during a courtesy visit to Lagos House, Marina, describing her appointment as a landmark achievement for legal education and gender inclusion in Nigeria.
Governor Sanwo-Olu congratulated Mrs. Odusote on her well-deserved appointment, noting that her emergence as the first female Director-General of the Nigerian Law School marks a significant milestone in the nation’s legal history. He said the appointment reflects the gradual but steady progress Nigeria is making in expanding leadership opportunities and breaking longstanding barriers in public institutions.
The Governor emphasized that the Nigerian Law School plays a critical role in shaping the country’s legal profession by producing well-trained lawyers who uphold the rule of law and strengthen democratic governance. According to him, strong leadership at the Law School is essential to sustaining high standards of legal education and preparing future practitioners to meet the demands of a changing society.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated the Lagos State Government’s commitment to supporting initiatives and leadership that promote institutional excellence, inclusion, and innovation.
