
The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international partnerships aimed at expanding the digital economy and driving sustainable development across the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made this known while receiving the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs of Poland, Krzysztof Gawkowski, at Lagos House in Marina.
According to the governor, discussions during the meeting focused on the future of the digital economy and the opportunities available through strategic collaboration and partnership between Lagos and Poland. He noted that both governments share a common vision of using technology, innovation and infrastructure development to improve economic growth and create opportunities for young people.
Sanwo-Olu described Lagos as the commercial and digital hub of Nigeria, highlighting the state’s rapidly growing technology ecosystem and youthful population as major drivers of innovation and enterprise. He stated that the government remains focused on building the right infrastructure that will encourage investment, support innovation and ensure long-term economic sustainability.
The governor further explained that the state is committed to creating an enabling environment for local and international investors, especially in sectors linked to technology, digital services and innovation. He added that partnerships with global stakeholders would play a key role in positioning Lagos as a leading digital economy in Africa.
Sanwo-Olu also reiterated the readiness of the Lagos State Government to work with partners and investors who share its vision for economic transformation, innovation and inclusive growth.
The visit by the Polish delegation is expected to further strengthen diplomatic and economic ties while opening new opportunities for cooperation in the digital sector.
